Eudora Residential Property Improvement Program

The Eudora Residential Property Improvement Program was developed in 2018 to help eligible residents:

  • attain code compliance,
  • improve the safety and appearance of their properties, and to
  • begin the process of rehabilitating the City’s aging housing stock.

Financial assistance in the form of grants of up to $2,000 are provided to eligible homeowners based on income, with priority given to Medicare and Social Security recipients. However, applications submitted outside the income requirements may be considered on a case by case basis depending on the nature of the improvement, the magnitude of potential positive impact to the community, and availability of funds. Anyone interested in the program is encouraged to apply!

Program Requirements

  • The home must be owner-occupied.
  • To be eligible for funding, an application must be submitted and approved by the City before any work can begin. The application must be accompanied by:
    • an estimate of all work and materials (homeowner labor is not eligible for reimbursement)
    • two (2) pictures of the current condition of the property
  • If a homeowner chooses to do work personally, all construction, inspection, and permit requirements must be met.
