The City of Eudora Begins Comprehensive Plan Update
City Manager Barack Matite is pleased to announce the City of Eudora is kicking off its Comprehensive Plan Update process with a public town hall meeting and online community survey. The Comprehensive Plan serves as the City’s blueprint for guiding future growth and development. The Comprehensive Plan is developed with citizens for citizens and addresses a variety of issues including land use, transportation, housing, recreation, and economic development.
The City’s current Comprehensive Plan was completed in 2003, with a minor update in 2005. The Comprehensive Plan process provides the community with the opportunity to guide land use and development decisions and articulate the future needs and goals for the Eudora community. The Comprehensive Plan update will enable the City to refine our vision for maintaining and enhancing community quality of life.
Because this is a public process, the City wants to involve as many residents and businesses as possible, the City is hosting an initial public meeting. This meeting will be approximately 90 minutes long with a brief presentation and facilitated discussion where neighbors can gather and share their opinions in an informal setting. City staff and the project consultant will be on hand to collect input, discuss ideas, and answer questions. Additionally, residents and businesses can provide input via an online survey if they are unable to attend the meeting.
