City of Eudora Hires New Assistant City Manager

The City of Eudora has hired Kevyn Gero as the new Assistant City Manager/Human Resources Manager. Kevyn was selected from five finalists after an intensive interview process. In this newly created position, Kevyn will take over the Human Resources functions and supervise departments and divisions that include the City Clerk’s Office; Municipal Court; and the Planning, Zoning, Building, and Codes Department. 

Kevyn Gero brings seven years of experience working for the City of Lawrence, most recently in her position as an Analyst in the Municipal Services & Operations (MSO) Department. Her past work experience includes strategic planning, personnel management, organizational development, policy development and implementation among others, for the Lawrence-Douglas County Fire Medical Department and the City Manager’s Office. “Kevyn is a great addition to our leadership team,” said City Manager Barack Matite. “We look forward to working with her and her becoming part of team Eudora that is dedicated to improving the lives of all Eudora residents.”

Kevyn earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Oklahoma in 2011 and a Masters of Public Administration degree from the University of Kansas in 2015. She is a Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) Certified Professional. 

Kevyn’s anticipated start date is Monday, April 12, 2021.
