The City of Eudora has hired Mindy Andrasevits as the new Fire Chief. Mindy was selected from four finalists after an intensive interview process. In this position, Mindy will succeed outgoing Chief Ken Keiter in directing the City’s Fire Department and related operations.
Mindy Andrasevits brings two decades of emergency response, public safety education, and risk management experience, most recently in her position as a Fire Inspector/Investigator for the City of Saint Joseph Fire Department where she created and implemented the “After The Fire: Neighborhood Sweep” program in partnership with The American Red Cross. Her past work experience also includes art education as well as private-sector sales management.
“After an intensive interview process where we interacted with four impressive finalists, I am pleased that Ms. Mindy Andrasevits accepted our offer to join our organization, leadership team, and our community,” said City Manager Barack Matite. “She will be joining and leading a professional, and well-respected fire department that is integral to our organization and community. Among other things, she has the experience and mindset that will be crucial as we work with various stakeholders and partners to make our community better.”
Mindy earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Missouri Western State University and a Master of Science degree in Public Administration/Emergency Services Management from Columbia Southern University, with a concentration in Leadership and Decision Making, Legal Aspects, Interagency Disaster Management, and Risk Management.
Mindy’s anticipated start date is Monday, November 15, 2021.
